Peripera Metallic Green

Rounding out my four Peripera polishes is the magnificent blue green duochrome that is Metallic Green.
I really did save the best for last with this one. I believe this is also a dupe for Missha HGR001.

It's looks a lot like a metallic foil, but it is slightly frosty, which means a few streaks.  I really don't care about the streaks in the finish, because it is just so damn beautiful.  This first photo is in the sun.

On the angle, you see the bright blue flash that this green polish shifts to. Taken indoors with no direct sun or light.

Front on, indoors - with short stumpy ring finger which has now almost grown out to the length of the others in the two weeks since I swatched this.

I tell you, these cat bottles are the cutiest thing EVA, but damn it makes it hard to hold your fingers in a level and attractive post for a swatch photo.

After wearing it for a day or two, I thought I would try a star explosion, a la Nailside style. The idea was good, but my application terrible.  I loved the colour combo I did though, which was Tony Moly Neptune. I haven't got around to swatching (let alone wearing a full mani) of my Tony Moly's yet. I also mattified the whole thing to give it a totally different look.

Suspension base and Peripera Crystal Brown

Today was the day that Kaila at TKB Trading said she would strive to be ready to ship the franken bases to international locations by.  I got an email from Kaila first this this morning which let me know where she was at.
"I made a commitment to you that I would sort out the issue of shipping our Frankenpolishes from the USA to overseas locations by 9/18/2011.  I have also been promising domestic customers that I would sort out shipping larger than pint quantities.

Originally, my thought was this would be a very straight forward process of me devoting a (lovely) Saturday to taking a six hour online required training in Haz Mat shipping.

However, as I go through the training, I realize that I will also need to arrange for the proper packaging materials, labels, figure out which shipping company will be the most affordable for our customers, and etc.  So my carving out a Saturday for this project isn't going to cut it.

For now, I can tell you that I have begun my online training.  And this coming week I will be sorting out the details with Fedex and UPS, as well as the supply companies for labels and what not.  But I'm not going to meet the deadline."
So while she hasn't got the franken suspension bases ready to go, I think it's awesome that she was committed enough to email me and let us know that she is working on it.  You rock Kaila.

Now on to some swatches.  I'm back to my Peripera polishes that I was showing you, just before the spectraflair arrived.

This is Peripera Crystal Brown.  It's similar again to the two I have already shown, Crystal Gold and Crystal Beige.  To me it has a slight pink tone, a little like a warm gold, but not quite a rose gold.  Given it was called brown, I was expecting it to be much darker, but like I said in previous posts, I only had a colour dot on the computer screen to pick my colours by.

Amazing foil sparkle in the sun., but it also showed a little teeny tiny bit of streaking. But maybe it's just the macro shot you can really see it in.

Now I think it was Tina who asked for some bottle pics. So better late than never right.

The bottles are soooo awesome.  Those little kitties on the top are so shiny and chrome like, that the sun is flaring off them.

Is it just me that wanted to know what the back of the cats bum was like? Well this photo is bloody awful, but I can tell you there is a little indent between the two legs and other than that it is round.  This cat's bum is fat - or maybe it's just extra fluffy!

Suspension base and Peripera Crystal Beige

First up for my Aussie followers that are looking for a suspension base for their frankens.  I sent another pestering email to the lovely Kaila at TKB Trading to see how she was going with haz mat training so she can ship the franken bases internationally.

She wrote back this morning making us a "girl scout promise" that she would complete the training required by FedEx, no later than September 18th AND upon completion she would issue an Aussie polish coupon code for all her friends down under to use at the TKB site!! Sweet! No more straining polish for you Stef!  And no more stupid shake, shake, shake, shake for all of us when using glitter, micas, spectraflair etc. YAY! No backing out now Kaila, we will all email you on the 18th to see if you kept your promise ;)

All I'm wondering now is how much FedEx shipping is going to be.  I know to get the Spectraflair Fedex'ed to me after it is manufactured is costing me just under $100, and that is a small light package.  Lets cross our fingers!

Now on to today's polish.  Like I mentioned yesterday, here is another Korean Peripera polish.  This one is #P012 Crystal Beige.  It's another foil finish, but has different sized beige glass flecks.  It's really sparkly in the sun, and still looks great indoors too.

Although this photo is very glarey, you can see the different sized glass fleck particles.

See how nice it is indoors still.  Again it is another cool toned gold polish to add to my collection of a zillion other cool toned gold polishes.  That is the one colour and finish polish that I just can't stop myself buying.  Is anyone else like that with a single colour?  I mean, seriously, do I really need 40 odd cool toned gold polishes?

Now I promised Tina that I would show a bottle picture, so you can all see the very cute little cat bottles, but I still haven't taken the photos. Sorry.  I promise I will do them for tomorrows post!

Peripera Crystal Gold

I ordered four Peripera nail polishes off ebay a few weeks back and they arrived last week.  The four I got were Metallic Green, Crystal Gold, Crystal Beige and Crystal Brown.  Metallic Green was the only one I had seen swatches of (over on Pretty Random), the other three I just bought from the colour chart on the ebay listing - which means they were pretty much a stab in the dark.

If you don't know of Peripera nail polish, here's the low down.  They are a Korean brand with georgous round bottles with little metallic gold cats as the handles.  They also have a Rose range, which feature very long handles with rose motifs on them, but I haven't tried those.

Today's polish is from the Perfume range (the cat bottles) in Crystal Gold P024.  These cat handles have the extra wide brush, which I have to say is really growing on me now.  They also are scented when the polish is dry.

I know a lot of girls hate the smell, but I actually quite like it.  Except as Carly pointed out when she reviewed the Revlon scented nail polish, you don't want to be caught sniffing your fingers in public as it "makes you look like you have just picked at your bum and need to smell to see if you scratched a bit too far in". Girl you had me rolling on the floor with that line!

Anyway, back to this polish.  I love gold polish, and this one is right up there.  It's a cool toned gold, which is preference too.  This was two coats, no top coat.  A fabulous golden metallic foil.

This is what it looks like indoors, which is still beautiful.

Of course I have quite the selection of gold metallic foil polishes, so I went through my swatch sticks to find the three closest colours and finish matches. Here they are in the sun.

So even with my massive gold collection, I still didn't find an EXACT dupe, but that's just because I can see even the tiniest difference in colours!

More Peripera tomorrow.

Dangerous Duochrome

When I was applying Metallic Green from peripera for the first time I knew it would be great for stamping. I like how metallic stamping looks over a creme nail polish, so I applied two coats of P2 - Dangerous and I used the feathery/leafy design from plate BM-210. Great base colour, check; beautiful stamping design, check; awesome duochrome stamping, check! I am bedazzled... ♥

Peripera - Metallic Green

If Kaz says you need a polish, you need it. That's right, you nééd it. Kaz has a massive nail polish stash, so I trust her. :O So when I saw this fabulous shade on her blog I immediately ran to ebay and bought it. I'm talking about Metallic Green, a gorgeous green duochrome from the brand Peripera. This nail polish is made of pure awesome, I don't know what else to say... just look at the pictures!

In sunlight it looks even prettier...
Metallic Green is easy to apply and very pigmented, you could get away with one coat, but out of habit I did two. It'll be great for stamping, don't you think? Some things you need to know about this nail polish: 1. it has a BIG flat brush, 2. visible brush strokes on the nail are inevitable with this nail polish finish. I'm not a big fan of brushstroke-y nail polishes, but with Metallic Green I don't care, 'cause it's too FABULOUS.

Peripera is a Korean brand with the cutest packaging, the brush handle of this nail polish is shaped like a cat!
