Nubar Finest Silks Collection Swatches and Review

Those of you that love to sew with the finest of fabrics  I think you will appreciate this collection if not for the colors definitely for the names.  Those of you that just adore nudes/taupes/browns you will love this collection.  And those of you that are not too sure give them a try it's a nice set to add to your collection *-*

                        Finest Silks Collection

This is a better picture of  Organza
Organza:  is a sheer fabric similar to silk. Frosty/pearl  white used 3 coats to even out the brush strokes and to cover my visible nail line.

Taffeta: is a crisp, smooth woven fabric made from silk or synthetic fibres.  Creme brown base used 2 coats

Marabout:  furlike trimming for women's hats and garments. Greyed/taupe brown creme used 2 coats.

Pekin:  It consists of Cotton, wool, silk, or elaborate velvet stripes that are separated by satin. Ruby cool tone red creme used 2 coats.

Chiffon:  is a sheer textile. Because it is so thin, chiffon can be a difficult fabric to work with. Greyed taupe brown creme it is a lighter shade then Marabout used 2 coats.

Moire:  is a fabric with a wavy (watered) appearance produced mainly from silk, but also wool, cotton and rayon. Pink/Brown creme used 2 coats.

Charmeuse: is a luxury fabric made from silk with a satin finish. It has a floating appearance which drapes very well. Pink/Brown creme more pink then Moire used 2 coats.

Sateen: is a smooth fabric, such as of silk or rayon, woven with a glossy face and a dull back. Brick Red jellish creme used 2 coats.

Here are some comparisons:

I like this collection because I do like to use nudes/taupes at times and my favorite from the collection is Sateen!  Can you believe it because it has a jelly effect to it.  Organza was my least favorite due to the pearly like streaky texture but wasn't too bad once I applied the 3rd coat.  It's just not a polish finish that I would wear. As far as the rest of the collection they were easy to apply and only needed 2 coats.  Guess what the red base polishes didn't stain!  Yay *-*
