Pure Ice Crackle duo Strike A Pose

Another crackle polish you say.  I'm not quite over crackle polish yet.  Pure Ice have some lovely duo sets that include a glitter, crackle and a cute small nail file.  Love the combo!

537CP Beware, Silver Glitter
Strike A Pose, Teal Shimmer Crackle.  In the bottle it looks like a duochrome

I used a grey base before putting on one coat of glitter and one coat of crackle.

(Grey base: Pure Ice, Kiss Me Here) I put on the grey to mimic the nail file.

Strike A Pose, a deeper teal then what the pictures are showing.  Sorry my camera didn't pick up this color well.  It's more closer to the duo pack bottle picture.

I tried putting on the crackle while the glitter was still wet.  It didn't crack for me. I then waited for the glitter to dry and got a few cracks as you see here.   I was hoping for more cracks to see more of the glitter.

Bari Cosmetics is available online at www.baricosmetics.com and these can be purchased at  Walgreens and Walmart stores

Have you tried any of the duo sets?  Thoughts?

Karine, Romance à Paris/ Swatches and Review

There are lots of Indie polishes that are just awesome!  I'm seeing lots of fabulous glitter combinations.  I have one to show you today by Karine.  Romance à Paris is a fuchsia jelly with multicolored flakies and glitter.  What polish lover do you know who doesn't like jellies, glitter and flakies? Lol!

I was so surprised the first coat was opaque and the glitter/flakies evened out nicely. I used 2 coats

The only thing I didn't like about it, it dried a bit dull.

After I applied Seche Vite topcoat I fell in love.  Look at the glitter and flakies shine.

Don't have to worry about  Romance  à Paris being hungry for topcoat.  Very smooth with only one coat.

Karine did a fabulous job putting this blend together.  Keep in mind it's not 3 free.

Romance à Paris is part of a 10 polish collection called The Birthday Club. These will be available on April 1, 2012.  For more information, visit Karine's Facebook page HERE and follow Karine's blog HERE.

Nubar Polka Dots Swatches and Review

I love to hear when Nubar comes out with a new collection.  I was elated when the Polka Dot collection was announced.  This cute little collection is a must have in my opinion because you can layer these on just about any color you so desire.  Bored with a plain color.  Just put on a coat or two of either the white or black dots.  Also you can use both at the same time to make a pretty manicure come alive.  These are really fun!

White Polka Dot: Used 1 coat

Here I applied 2 coats of White Polka Dot.  Still didn't get very many of the larger glitter pieces on my nails.

White Polka Dot: The promo says, Fine holographic glitter and small white hexagonal glitter in a clear base.  I don't see where the glitter is holographic. Maybe it is out in the sun.

Black Polka Dot:  Used 1 coat

Here I applied 2 coats of Black Polka Dot.  You get lots of the large hexagons glitter pieces effortlessly.

Black Polka Dot: The promo says, Fine black glitter and small black hexagonal glitter in a clear base.

Here 1 coat of each Black and White Polka Dot

Green: Nubar Vogue Vert from the Polished Chic Collection. 2 coats

Like I said before this is a fun collection to have so go and purchase it you won't be disappointed.

China Glaze Capital Colours Collection 2012 Swatches and Review

China Glaze Capital Colours a 12 piece collection and is tribute to the upcoming movie The Hunger Games.  I don't know anything about the movie...sorry.  I have 2 colours to show you from the collection..

Folie Gras is a deep dark brown taupe creme.  I only applied one coat!  Very opaque. Keep in mind I do have on basecoat and one coat of ridgefiller.

Riveting a bright shimmer orange with yellow shimmers mixed in.  I thought it was glass fleck from looking at it in the bottle but looks shimmery on the nail.  Such a fun color. I used one coat.

Overall The formula on these were a little runny but thick at the same time still not a problem with applying them. Very impressive these 2  being one coaters for me.  The colors aren't new and I have a few in mine that are close dupes.  I can't wait to get some of the others in this collection.

China Glaze® Capitol Colours will be available in early March 2012 at salons and specialty beauty retailers including Sally Beauty Supply and ULTA stores, coinciding with the release of THE HUNGER GAMES in theatres March 23, 2012. Individual shades retail for $7. The collection will be available in a 12-piece counter display as well as open stock colors.

Mont Bleu: Crystal Glass Nail File Review

Good Morning,

Since we love nail polish and love to polish our nails we need some tools to keep them in shape.  I love using a crystal nail file to shape my natural nails.  Crystal files are so much more gentle on the natural nails then emery boards or files for acrylic nails.   Each and everytime just before removing my nail polish I file my nails lightly just to keep them shape nicely and if I feel I want to cut down on the length  I use my crystal glass file.

This file runs across the free edge of my nails smoothly

I have another crystal file that only one side is usable but, this one you can use both sides, it's durable and usable

Overall, a crystal file should be apart of your staple on the up keep of your nails.   Please check out Mont Bleu  or czech-glass-nail-files.com they ship worldwide.  Also, they have a range of different cosmetic tools, all decorated with Swarovski Crystals and more...

Finger Paints Palette Of Petals Collection 2011...Swatches/Review

I love flowers.  Finger Paints has given us a lovely spring collection of Petals.  The colors are not so unique but there nice to have.

Dahlia My Number peach with gold shimmer

Chrysanthe-mum's the word lime mint green creme.

Aren't you glad-ioulous lilac purple creme

Did you Ast-her out? pink jelly

Heavenly Hydrangeas dusty purple creme

Carnation Creation teal creme

I thought Dahlia by number was going to be thin & streaky but it's pretty opaque with the first coat but I used two coats.  Did you Ast-her out? is a wonderful jelly!  The rest of them are cremes pretty opaque with the first coat but I used two coats.  My favorites from this collection is Dahlia by number and Did you Ast-her out?  These two were the easiest for me to apply.

Will you be picking up this collection?  Which ones?
