The red adventure part two: Rapsodi 326

Hello again! Second post for today featuring another red. This time with a happy ending!

A week ago I was browsing some shops in the city just to see if there was any new stuff in. I saw this new brand that was very very cheap (less than 1$ per bottle) and then it hit me. I should look for a blue-toned red since the price was right for me to experiment and there were a lot of red shades to choose from. I chose one that looked ok in the light of the shop (although you can never know with these). I was very pleased with the outcome!

Rapsodi 326 in the sun

This red is so yummy! I'm not a red wearer myself but I crave one from time to time. This is the perfect blue-toned red crelly. It has the opacity of a creme with the amazing shine of a jelly. The sun pictures are all without top coat and look at that shine! I just love how this looks on me!

There is a drawback of this polish however, namely the durability. It shows tip wear after one day of wear and it needs top coat badly to make it last longer. I don't mind because it's not a color I wear often and the price is right. It's almost as getting it for free.

I'm pretty happy with this red and I'm sure I won't need another one in my collection anytime soon. It's nice to know that if I want to have red on my nails, I have the perfect shade in my collection.

The red adventure part one: Sleek Geisha's Seal

Hello my beauties! Another beautiful spring day is a good opportunity for me to show you some reds. I have two posts in store for you. But first I want to apologize again for not commenting on blogs and not replying to your comments. I'm really behind, again and I have to catch up. It gets old, I know, but what can I do.

The first red that I will show you today is one by Sleek MakeUp. I've had this polish since December and I've used it as underwear for my China Glaze Ring in the Red mani that I posted about here. When I first bought it I expected it to be more blue-toned, but I was disappointed to see it's not. It actually pulls very orange on me.

Sleek Geisha's Seal, indoors, artificial light
This picture makes it look even more orange than in reality, but it still looks awful on me. I hate how my hands look when I have such a polish on. I wore this immediately after I nubbinized my nails, so you imagined how bummed I was about my nubs with such a color on. I really don't know what I was thinking.

The formula on this is a little thick. I remember I had trouble applying it the first time so I added a few drops of Seche Restore. It's very opaque but it looked patchy after one coat so I did two. Drying time is average, I guess. Here's a picture of it in direct light that is a little more accurate.

I'm sure this doesn't look this orange on somebody else, but on my cool skin tone it just turns horrible. So to make it better I tried a little stamping using my m60 plate and China Glaze Liquid Leather. I did like how it turned out and I wore this combo for around 2 days. Not bad considering the color.

I think I'm gonna give this away because I really don't see myself wearing it again. I'm ok with this brand just not with the color. Maybe I will try others in the future.

Nubar Polka Dots Swatches and Review

I love to hear when Nubar comes out with a new collection.  I was elated when the Polka Dot collection was announced.  This cute little collection is a must have in my opinion because you can layer these on just about any color you so desire.  Bored with a plain color.  Just put on a coat or two of either the white or black dots.  Also you can use both at the same time to make a pretty manicure come alive.  These are really fun!

White Polka Dot: Used 1 coat

Here I applied 2 coats of White Polka Dot.  Still didn't get very many of the larger glitter pieces on my nails.

White Polka Dot: The promo says, Fine holographic glitter and small white hexagonal glitter in a clear base.  I don't see where the glitter is holographic. Maybe it is out in the sun.

Black Polka Dot:  Used 1 coat

Here I applied 2 coats of Black Polka Dot.  You get lots of the large hexagons glitter pieces effortlessly.

Black Polka Dot: The promo says, Fine black glitter and small black hexagonal glitter in a clear base.

Here 1 coat of each Black and White Polka Dot

Green: Nubar Vogue Vert from the Polished Chic Collection. 2 coats

Like I said before this is a fun collection to have so go and purchase it you won't be disappointed.

These were sent for review

Glittering Blue

I'd like you to meet Have An Ice Day, one of the stunning Million Styles Effect Top Coats from Catrice. This top coat has a clear base with tiny prismatic glitters. Ooh, sparklies! ♥ It looks a million times more awesome in real life, the sparkly effect is difficult to capture on a photograph. The bottle pic below came out pretty nice though. I'm wearing two coats of Have An Ice Day over Barry M - Cobalt Blue. The finish is slightly gritty, but a good layer of regular top coat will fix that.
Thanks for watching!

Blue Monday, Sinful Colors Cinderella

Good Morning,

Hope you had a great weekend.  I did lots of yard work raking up leaves.  It wasn't easy,  I look at it as exercise bending and lifting.   Boy do my arms and legs hurt.  Lol!

Anyway,  I have the lovely Sinful Colors Cinderella to show you.  I know you have seen it but if not here it is.  It's a lovely light baby blue with pinkish/orange shimmer.  I thought it was sheer so I first layered a coat of Color Club Blue Light then 2 coats of Cinderella.  No problems with the formula.  If you haven't picked it up I suggest you do.   Just go to your local Walgreens.

These 2 make a great pair

Did you pick up Cinderella already?  Do you like it?

OPI Don't mess with OPI

Hello lovelies! It's a beautiful day over in my corner of the world, and I sure hope it's the same where you are! Today was the first day I went outside to take pictures in full sun. No more freezing in the window when there's a sunny but cold day. No more trying to catch some rays trough the window. Yay!

Today is also the first post where I'm showing you my nubs. I still have some pictures with long nails to post and this is by no means in chronological order, but I wanted to get some green up on the blog since it's St. Patrick's Day. This is not a holiday we have in my country. It seemed a lot of fun to do something themed for it though, so I did some nail art which I will be showing you later. Until then, this is my base color.

OPI Don't Mess with OPI in the sun (yay!)
DMWO comes from last year's Texas collection and is the most perfect shade of medium green creme. It's not too dark, not too bright, just perfect! I got this over a year ago and have only worn it once until today. I was actually lemming for China Glaze Starboard and found this auction on ebay for the OPI. They are not the same but definitely close so I went for it. I ended up paying about 6$ for this, which is great for OPI in Europe.

I have no idea why I kept postponing wearing this again. Application is a breeze and it's opaque in two coats. This was my first OPI and my first encounter with the ProWide brush. I remember that the polish went everywhere when I applied it. I'm happy to say that I've improved a lot and only had to do minor cleaning today.

All pictures are without top coat. It dries to a very glossy finish. This is the perfect St. Patrick's Day polish! Stay tuned for some nail art!

KOH - Baby Grey

On my nails: Baby Grey from Koh. An unusual grey, kinda dirty looking, with beautiful pink and copper flecks. Since Baby Grey is rather sheer I layered two coats over Essence Romeo (a light grey creme). I like this baby. A lot! :L

History

The Portland Trail Blazers, commonly known as the Blazers, are an American professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. They play in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Trail Blazers originally played their home games in the Memorial Coliseum, before moving to the Rose Garden in 1995. The franchise entered the league in 1970 and has been based in Portland throughout its existence. The franchise has enjoyed a strong following; from 1977 through 1995, the team sold out 814 consecutive home games, the longest such streak in American major professional sports.[3] The Trail Blazers are the only sports team in the "Big Four" sports leagues located in the state of Oregon. After the Vancouver Grizzlies and the Seattle SuperSonics left and relocated to Memphis and Oklahoma City respectively, the Trail Blazers are also currently the only NBA team based in the binational Pacific Northwest.
