Hot Prom Looks from Zoya Nail Polish

Prom is just around the corner and many girls are focusing most of their energy on the perfect dress and the red carpet hairstyle they are going to recreate. When it comes down to getting their mani they walk into the salon and just pick a color off of the rack- nothing is wrong with that, but Zoya Nail Polish is here to give you the knowledge to help you pick the perfect color and to tell you about all of the other great things you can do with your nails.

First thing first is that you have to know what look you are going for. The top hot ones are Romantic, Old Hollywood, and Daring. All of them are pretty self-explanatory, so let’s get down to business. If you are going for the Romantic look your make-up will be neutral, sweet colors like soft corals, pinks, or light browns. Your nail polish can mimic the same color palette and give off that very Marie Antoinette in a field vibe, but your polish can be something more special. For instance instead of going for a typical French manicure make the tips sparkly or use a polish with a duochrome undertone. If you are not into French manicures look for polishes that embody that romantic, whimiscal look. This leaves many color options for you pink (being the most obvious), corals, purples, peaches, and blues- look for creams and pastels and stay away from strong sparkles and metallics.

For simple French Manicure tips: Zoya Purity, Zoya Juliette, and Zoya Lucy.
For more creative French Manicure Tips: Zoya Celeste, Zoya Snowsicle, Zoya Glimmer, Zoya Shimmer, and Zoya Dovey, or Zoya Danielle.

For Romantic Manicure colors: Zoya Willow, Zoya Bailey, Zoya Jessika, Zoya Lulu, Zoya Elodie, Zoya Cassi, Zoya Zara, Zoya Heather, or Zoya Jo.
.

The first thing most people think of when they hear the words Old Hollywood make-up is a bold red lip. So a typical nail color for this look would be a red nail and the great thing about red is that it goes with almost everything. You can pair it with a bijillion dresses. The classic red is never out of style, but remember you have a huge spectrum of reds to choose from.

If you think a classic red color is not enough for you there is one way to make this look  more special and that is by wearing a matte nail. No Matter if it is in red or black, matte is a very Old Hollywood look that is really fashion forward.
For a Red Manicure: Zoya Carmen, Zoya Maura, Zoya Gia, Zoya Sasha, or Zoya Dominque.

For a Matte Manicure: Zoya Posh, Zoya Dovima, Zoya Loredana, Zoya Savita, Zoya Veruschka, or Zoya Harlow.

The Last major look for prom this year is Daring. Being daring means wearing a short dress with sequins on it or wearing a dress that has a crazy pattern on it, anything that is not typical prom. Your nails should also represent a brand new, edgy look by either using a unique color ( think Zoe Kravitz at the Met Ball) or creating a crazy nail look- like a really colorful French manicure. The color combo French Manicure is very high fashion and you will look editorial fabulous wearing it!

For a Bright Manicure: Zoya Paz, Zoya Tobi, Zoya Pippa, or Zoya Tangy.

For a Minx  Like Manicure: Zoya Richelle or Zoya Trixie.

For a colorful French Manicure: Combo of Zoya Goldie with Zoya Ibiza or Zoya Yasmeen, Zoya Pippa with Zoya Lo, or Zoya Midori with Zoya Tart.

So ladies when you go to pick out your polish at the salon give it a bit of thought. Make your nails special. If you want to find a salon near you that carries Zoya go to our website zoya.com click on salon locator and simply type in your zip code. If you do not have a salon close that has Zoya Nail Polish most salons will let you bring in you own polish. Happy nails make a happy Prom!

Location: Altman Building (135 W. 18th St.)
Zoya Nail Polish - Official Nail Care Sponsor of the Toni Maticevski Fall 2010 Show.
Designer Toni Maticevski isn't big on providing the media with his source of inspiration. He prefers the viewer to think about what they see rather than telling them what "to see". It is this interpretation that allows the beauty of Maticevski to be that of the beholder. Exaggerated doll-like layers and Toni's tradmark subtle ornamentation took this viewer straight to Hollywood with a visions of starlets making the scene.
Nails complimented the clothes, hair and makeup and worked double duty as accessories. Led by the creative Dhav Naidu, Manicurist Sunshine Outing and team treated each nail as a unique canvas using Zoya Nail Polish in Casey for the warmer skin toned models and Zoya Nail Polish in Sloane for the cool chickies. Zoya Richelle and Nova UltraGlitter went on ring fingers as accent color with Zoya Armor topcoat delivering the glossy finish.

Perfectly Polished Tips reviews Zoya's Flourish Collection

Here's a review we missed from a few days ago - it features another great commentary of the new Zoya Professional Nail Lacquer Flourish collection, color by color. Thanks Perfectly Polished Tips.

It also has a review of the new Zoya Flourish colleciton coordinating Hot Lips Color, Starlet.

"I don't usually review cosmetics but these beauties followed Flourish home. Zoya Hot lips are pretty great. I've only worn Starlet so far, the gloss isn't overly sticky and the applicator is rounded making it easy to get the product out. It smells like those fire cracker ice pops, I think that is what they are called. It tastes nice too. Starlet is sheer but buildable which I like. I am not very big on wearing any type of color on my face, except blush. I was able to apply this gloss and only leave a light tint. It has glitter but it's not gritty and with the sheer coat I applied it wasn't visible. This can be a pro or con depending on what you like. Personally I'm not a huge glitter fan so I liked that I could wear it with out the glitter being an issue. The gloss also lasted for a decent amount of time which is great. You know what else is great? Matching your gloss to your polish. The three above match Richelle, Kalista, and Mieko almost perfectly."

Recent swatch reviews from All Lacquered up (shown here), The Crystal Files (shown here) and others show you just how wonderful each and every color (Richelle, Zara, Shivon, Mieko, Cyma and Kalista) in this collection is.

"The holidays seem to be extra sparkly this year with so many festive, glimmering polishes headed our way. Zoya's Flourish collection certainly fits in with that trend. This set of six glitzy shades is sure to put a twinkle in your eye. In the same vein as the Magique collection from two years ago, each lacquer has fine micro-glitter that peeks at you through ribbons of luscious gold shimmer."

Zoya Professional Nail Lacquer - Flourish Collection Review

If you want a great look at Zoya's gorgeous new Flourish collection (Richelle, Zara, Shivon, Mieko, Cyma and Kalista) check out this in depth blogger review by Scrangie.

"Overall, this is one gorgeous collection. I love the Zoya shimmer- it's not really chunky, but it's this sort of visible particle that looks like crushed shells or maybe that edible glitter made of gelatin... Hard to describe, but the polishes that have it are all mesmerizing. In this case, it's golden shimmer and it looks really fantastic in sunlight.

These all applied very well, very smooth and no application problems at all. I only used two coats of polish for these pictures, but Mieko and Zara would probably look better with three. None of these stained my fingers after removal, and none left shimmer behind.

"I have no complaints!I have a feeling that Kalista is going to become a cult favorite. It's my second favorite of the collection (Richelle is my number one pick!) and it's a color I can see myself wearing all the time."

"Richelle. Gorgeous metallic gold. In my opinion, this is the best gold that's been released by any company in a long time. It is reminiscent of Dior Golden Nugget. It's smooth but super-sparkly. This is not a subtle gold, this is FIERCE!"
