Darker Valentine

Valentine's Day is tomorrow, and today will probably be the last of my mini series of Valentine's Day manicures. Andy and I have plans to make some homemade ravioli (with spinach, ricotta, and Italian sausage inside) which probably won't leave much time for my hands to be painted. Toxic nail polish in delicious homemade food doesn't sound too appetizing.

Today I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Cinna-Snap as the base. Holy cow is that color sexy. It's such a deep, dark, almost bronzed red. Definitely a one-coater, and a hell of a job to clean up in the cuticle area. I then layered on some Chunky Holo Scarlet. Topping it all off is Synergy from L.A. Girl's Glitter Addict collection. I had plans to do some stamping, but I'm really pleased with all these glittering combinations lately.

Orange Sprinkles

I asked hubby what color to wear today he chose Orange.  I pulled out Confetti Conga Line.  It's a mid-tone orange with gold shimmer.  I layered one coat of Klean Color 88 Fireworks. It has lots of multi-colored hex and round gold glitters.  It looks so much better in real life y'all *-*

Here is Conga Line all by itself

My nails are growing and I'm trying to keep them short. Lol!

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠) Share/Bookmark

Red On Black

I love combining red and black, so why not use both colours on my nails? I started with applying one coat of Camelot from a england and let it dry. Then I taped of the sides and applied Kleancolor - Bite Me, a wonderful red glitter polish. After removing the tape I used a matte top coat. I like how it looks subtle and edgy at the same time. 8)
The glossy version looks nice too, but I'm hooked on matte glitter nails.

Thanks for watching!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Clover

After yesterday's failed attempt to layer the different Kleancolor holos over black, I decided to use a base that more closely matched the colors within the holo itself. Today's is Chunky Holo Clover. It's layered over China Glaze's Starboard.

Nothing too special, but I can count it as a Christmas manicure right?

Chunked Shawn

Hmm, I think my nails never looked this weird. Two coats of Zoya - Shawn, one coat of Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Black and a layer of matte top coat (I'm loving the matte texture these days!). I kinda like this mani in all its weirdness.. Tell me, what do you think?

Thanks for watching, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Kleancolor - Bite Me

Eat your heart out, Ruby Pumps! This is one coat of Kleancolor - Bite Me. Yes, you read that right, one coat. Can you believe how pigmented this glittery red is? I really hope two layers of base coat will prevent my nails from staining. :o The formula of Bite Me was a bit thick, but manageable. An amazing red, so sparkly... love it!

That's it for today, thanks for watching!

Kleancolor stamping and awesome Nail Mail!

Ah, Kleancolor metallics, is there anything you can't do?  I seriously can't tell you how in love with the Kleancolor metallics I am.  Why did it ever take me so long to try them, and why did I not see anyone else raving about them on their blogs?

I've frankened with these babies, they're amazing one coaters in their own right, and now, look how well they stamp.  I've gotta say they do bleed a little when you apply top coat, so that the edges of the stamping go a little fuzzy and out of focus, but when I think about the stamping possibilities with all the Kleancolor metallic colours, I simply don't care.

My base colour here is Orly FX Shine, stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM-221 in Kleancolor Metallic Purple.

And now I'm sure you've noticed that I also added a coat of my Spectraflair topcoat.

Now I have made that SV spectraflair top coat, I'm not quite sure how I'm going to stop myself applying it to every single non holo mani I'm wearing.  I mean, come on, if you can holo up every mani, then why wouldn't you right?!?

And now for my nail mail all the way from Brazil.  I did my first ever swap with Tata Nada Ver.  I've always been too worried I'd get busted with the whole dangerous goods in the post business, but when she contacted me to do a swap for the Holográficos Hits no Olimpo, I sucked it up and lied my ass off on the customs declaration!  And yay that we have easy access to Ozotics to swap for too (especially as Picture Polish don't post to Brazil at the moment).  So here they are on our garden wall this arvo!

Left to right: Zeus - black, Hefesto - top coat, Artemise - silver, Hermes - gold, Poseidon - light blue, Apolo - dark blue, Hera - aqua blue, Dionísio - purple, Héstia - pink mauve, Atenas - magenta, Ares - red, Afrodite - pink, Deméter - orange.

Oh yeah baby!!  Any requests for which one first?

Comparison: Layering WIN & OPI DS - Glamour

A couple of days ago I posted a beautiful layering combination and apparently I wasn't the only one who loved it, thanks for all the lovely comments! My sweet blogging friend Deborah asked if I could compare this layering combo with OPI DS - Glamour. Well of course honey, this one is for you. :)
I applied three coats of Glamour on my ring finger nail, no top coat. As you can see Glamour is brighter and looks almost blurple next to the other nails. The prismatic effect of Glamour is kinda different too, the effect is lineair like Catherine Arley #667, but I also see scattered sparkles on my ring finger nail and the sparkles look more intense too (clearly visible in the 2nd picture). That must be the famous diamond-dust formula from OPI, don't you think? Although I'm deeply in love with the Kleancolor-Catherine Arley layering combination, nothing can beat OPI DS - Glamour. ♥
That's it for today, thanks for watching! :h

Layering WIN

Ok, ok, I confess: I'm addicted to prismatic prettiness. Those rainbows of colour on my nails are hypnotizing, no joke. Sometimes you're just trying some layering combinations on a nail wheel and then you find a killer combo like this! I applied two coats of Kleancolor - Neon Sapphire (I wouldn't call it neon, but it's a beautiful blue jelly) and one coat of Catherine Arley #667.

Something this pretty on my nails: instant happy-maker. :)

Thanks for watching!

Kleancolor metallics skittles

Yesterday I tried to do a water marble using some of my new Kleancolor metallic polishes.  I shit you not when I say I had metallic rainbow polish from ear to asshole. Suffice to say, I prompty removed that hideous mess.  Water marbling is just a skill I can't master!

As I was removing it, Mr Three came up to me and saw all the bottles open in front of me.

"Do Bay's nails please mummy".  So I did.  Then I did mine matching his.  He still thinks its awesome.

Anyone else with little boys?  Please tell me that its not weird for him to want to wear nail polish too.  He is such a boyish boy and I thought why the hell not.  I can't wait for Miss 6 months to be old enough to do her nails!

Color Club: Wicked Sweet (Part III: green) + Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Teal

I have one polish from Color Club's Wicked Sweet collection left to show you, a green neon called The Lime Starts Here. The finish of this one is something between a jelly and a creme. I can certainly appreciate a good green neon on my nails and this one is hot (and looks much brighter in real life)! After trying the lemon scented highlighter yellow from the same collection I was afraid I wouldn't like the scent, but it's not bad at all. *phew* :)
The formula was great, I had no trouble with applying this one. The only downside is the sheerness, this is how it looks after applying three coats.

Overall, I think this is a fun collection from Color Club: summery colours, different finishes and for me the scents really add something (the sour ones weren't my favourite, but that's taste related). Some of the polishes aren't the easiest to apply and you have to keep in mind most are sheer and require at least three coats.
I wanted to use one of the Chunky Holo's from Kleancolor, so I applied one coat of Chunky Holo Teal over the vibrant green. It would probably look better layered over a darker colour, but I really like the little pops of colour on top of The Lime Starts Here. Don't get me started on the scent though, the fruity scent of the Color Club polish mixed with the beloved Kleancolor smell: not good! ;)

Thanks for watching!

Beauty Joint haul of Kleancolor metallics

Here is my haul of Kleancolors I got from Beauty Joint.  Thanks to Carli who showed us her haul of kleancolors and specifically some of the metallics in the range, I had to buy them all.

Ok, so this first one here isn't a metallic, its 'Coffee Addict', but I loved the look of the colour and thought it could easily squeeze into the metallic collection. In fact I got it instead of Metallic White, because I just didn't think it would do it for me. These are quick crappy pictures taken with a flash because of the gray watery sky outside.  The bottle pics here are over exposed and washed out, but the swatches on my nail sticks are more colour accurate.

Colours above: Coffee Addict, Metallic Pink, Metallic Mango, Metallic Orange, Metallic Red, Metallic Yellow.

Colours below: Metallic Green, Metallic Aqua, Metallic Sapphire, Metallic Fuschia, Metallic Purple, Metallic Black.

I've read about some trouble other bloggers have had with their Beauty Joint orders, specifically where caps were not on tight and the polish leaked and then having issues with getting bottle replaced etc.  Maybe they are now making more of an effort to ensure the caps are on nice and tight and suitably packaged, because mine was perfectly wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and all caps on very tight.

I'm still wearing and swatching my new Oztoics/Chemistry's, and I'm determined to try them all before I try these.  But I have to say that there really are spectacular and I love that I was able to get every colour in this metallic range at such an affordable price - $1.75 US, which was even cheaper with the Aussie dollar conversion.

The colours are really saturated and bright and some of these were one coaters on my nail sticks.  I can see them being ok for stamping and really great for nail art.

We're seeing Kleancolors all over blogs at the moment, I think all because of Beauty Joint.  As far as I could see they were the first company to sell Kleancolors that shipped internationally and they are selling them for only $1.75. Their bottle pics on the ordering page is also very good and helps in choosing colours.  So, from me, thank you Beauty Joint. I'm very tempted to get some more after No Buy July is over, I just wish their shipping wasn't quite as expensive now.

Layering: Holo Chrome over Grape Pop

After two awful rainy days the sun is back, yay! I wanted something on my nails that would look stunning in sunlight, so I spiced up the colour I was wearing, China Glaze - Grape Pop, with Holo Chrome from Kleancolor. Purple and multicoloured sparkles, awesome combination! The drying time of Holo Chrome was longer than average, but the biggest downside of this beautiful polish is definitely the smell. Boy oh boy, this ain't good. I can't say I wasn't warned by other nail bloggers, though. ;)

Thanks for watching!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Scarlet

I recently got a swap package from Sam over at The Real Polish Princess (who actually has an amazing giveaway on at the moment with a lot of sort after holo polishes, including some CG Kaleidoscopes, Glitter Gals, Ozotic Pros etc - go on, get over there and enter).  She was kind enough to send me all the Kleancolor Chunky Holos, and this one, Chunky Holo Scarlet, jumped right in there with my other favourite red polishes and made its way into my Red Week.

These chunky holos have been all over blogs at the moment.  But first, let me just confirm that the use of the word 'holo' in the title of these is totally misleading for anyone that thinks they might be getting a holographic polish.  These should be called chunky duochrome glitters.

All these Chunky holos actually have the exact same glitter in them, which shifts yellow to red, but they are all in a different coloured base.  If you layered them all over black they are all the same (except holo black because of the different sized glitter). Scarlet is by far the most saturated colour, and possibly the only one that could be worn on its own without layering.

The duochrome glitters in these can actually be seen better indoors or in the shade rather than in full sun.

The other thing that everyone says with these polishes is that they are stinky.  And yep, its true, they are smelly. It's the sort of smell I reckon lacquers would have smelt like in the 1950's.  Totally worth the smell for the colour.  Thanks Sam, I love them.  Expect to see them all swatched soon.

108 Degrees and Pinky Moon

Good Morning,

108 Degrees it sure feels like it here in Florida! Lol!  Well, Before taking it off I layered on Kleancolor Pinky Moon.  It looks like sprinkles landed on my fingers.  This confetti type glitter is irridescent in color and has moon shapes and bar glitter mixed together in a tinted pink base.  I had to fish out the moons and only applied 2 of them on my middle finger.

I layered on 2 coats

The other moon is on the free edge corner...can you see it?

So, when you are bored with your mani just apply some glitter or any layering polish for a new look.

Do you like confetti bar glitter?  Or different shapes...which is your favorite?

Blogger problems:  I'm having trouble signing in and commenting at my home computer but is okay at my job's computer.  I tried to clear my cache and cookies still doesn't work.  I hope this gets fixed soon.  Anyone else having the same issues?

Until next time please have a great nail polish day. (✿◠‿◠) Share/Bookmark
